My Story: Ballet
(1982 – 2002)
Twenty years, 50% of my existence.
Ballet is one of the passions that I’ve carried with me all my life. It’s molded me, taught me, and tested me. It’s influenced my life in so many ways. Through ballet, I learned passions, dedication, concentration, resilience, and the pursuit of perfection. I learned posture development, and regularly struggled to expand my Comfort Zone, literally.
In striving for perfection, I never stopped at ballet. I strived to attain perfection with everything; tests, essays, and anything competitive. I love ballet. It’s part of me.
To this day, when I see a stage I feel a familiar rush of adrenaline. And I welcome it.
